The famous Canyons in Puerto Galera. Descent starts on the ridge that goes from Escarcio Point down to the Canyons, past the Hole in the Wall and slowly swept by the current down deeper until we reached the hill just before the first canyon.
There we looked up to see the big Kingfish that hangs out between the surface and the bottom. Next we swam through the little cave with two entrances to find a big Oriental Sweetlip hiding in the cave. Over the ridge into the first canyon that was covered with soft coral out feeding in the current and with a big school of Rabbitfish sitting head on into the current.
Then the second canyon where the resident Harlequin Sweetlips was join by Oriental Sweetlips, Snapper and so much more.
The third canyon was full of Humpback Snappers among One Spot Snapper and then we drifted towards the old anchor to prepare for our ascent to the safety stop. Just another lovely dive in the Canyons, a dive I could do every day if I had the time.
